Choice is hard when it's between two unknowns. The "easy" road (i.e. the less fearsome) is the road you know. May not be the right one to take but ... human nature being what it is then one probably does take it.
Two roads, neither of which you know, leading to unpredictable places, is just tough and I feel for you.
